about

Anomie was the first product of our attempts to blend punk with industrial. The song tells the story of an apocalypse free of fire and plague; the world dies a slow death as excess bleeds meaning from our lives.

lyrics

Hoping toward havoc come the battle cries
The weary sighs and the starving eyes
Pulling down the king just to rape the queen
Comes the press of the crowd
Bored like cattle

Got nothing left to do
There's nothing more to see
I feel it coming over me
Sand pouring through my fingers
Light pouring through my eyes
The end of meaning anomie

Children in the ashes of the streets they burned
No memories and no conviction
Staring at the sun searching for a sign
We're emptied out
We've had our fill

Got nothing left to do
There's nothing more to see
I feel it coming over me
Sand pouring through my fingers
Light pouring through my eyes
The end of meaning anomie

Beating down the mountains to make out plateaus
Another stage for another show
I'll pull down the stars for a string of lights
The sky is empty
There's no one home

Got nothing left to do
There's nothing more to see
I feel it coming over me
Sand pouring through my fingers
Light pouring through my eyes
The end of meaning anomie

Blood running from my fingers
Tears running from my eyes
I'll never be satisfied
